New ECR CCM takes charge

PATNA: Deepak Chhabra took over charge as the new chief commercial manager (CCM) of the East Central Railway (ECR) following the superannuation of V K Tiwary as ECR CCM. Prior to his joining as the CCM, Chhabra was the chief security officer of the ECR.
A product of 1980 batch of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), Chhabra had worked in various capacities in different zones of the railways. He was also the divisional railway manager (DRM) of Bhavnagar division under the Western Railway.

Ticket checking drive: The railways conducted massive ticket checking drives at different places under all its five divisions of the ECR during last 11 months. During the drive, about 5.12 lakh people were held travelling without proper tickets. The railways had realized Rs 17.72 crore as penalty from them, ECR CPRO Dilip Kumar said, adding several cases of unbooked luggage were also detected during the drive.
