LUDHIANA: Ludhiana-Delhi Shatabdi would be inaugurated on November 4 and the food on board is going to be varied and delicious, said divisional railway manager (DRM) Vishlesh Chaubey of Ferozepur division on his visit to city railway station on Friday. Food would be delivered from a city-based restaurant until a kitchen is set up by railway authorities, the DRM added.
Indian Railway is planning to revamp the food menu on Shatabdi trains across its network. It has already implemented the new rotational menu in Mumbai-Delhi and Delhi-Howrah Shatabdi and would incorporate it permanently depending on passengers' response. Chaubey said the official date for Ludhiana Shatabdi's inauguration is yet to be announced but the orders are to keep the train ready by November 4. "And we are set,'' he added.
Ferozepur division officials forwarded a proposal to Delhi headquarters suggesting to include Ludhiana and Jalandhar in list of stops of Amritsar-Chandigarh Duronto Express as the train has got a poor response from passengers so far.
